About the cups

Cups are the water suit. They cover emotion, love, friendship, grief, intuition and the whole inner life. If a reading has gone quiet on what you actually feel about something, a run of Cups is usually where it says so.

Water takes the shape of what contains it, and the suit reads that way: responsive, relational, and rarely the same twice. It is the suit most concerned with other people, and the one least interested in whether a thing is sensible.

Its middle is the deck's most honest sequence about disappointment. The Five is grief with something still standing behind it, the Six is memory, the Seven is fantasy, and the Eight is the decision to walk away from something that was fine and was not enough.
