Nine of Wands and Ten of Wands

Vigilance becoming a load. The Nine is wounded and watching; the Ten is bent double under all ten staves, carrying them alone with the town in sight. The tradition reads this run as the point where guarding something turns into being crushed by it, and it is the bleakest sequence in the suit.

Associated with holding a relationship together single-handedly past the point of capacity.

The end of the overwork arc. Read as unsustainable in plain terms rather than as dedication.

The order decides everything and only you know it. Nine to Ten is a burden still growing; Ten to Nine is somebody who has begun putting things down.
