Justice and Judgement

Two cards that sound identical in English and are not. Justice weighs a specific matter and returns a proportionate result. Judgement is a summons: something is called up, seen whole, and answered. The tradition reads the pair as an accounting that is both fair and total, which is a heavier thing than either card alone.

A reckoning rather than an argument. Associated with the conversation that covers everything at once, after a long period of covering one thing at a time.

Review, audit, appraisal, and the moment a body of work is assessed as a whole rather than task by task.

Judgement does not take instruction and Justice does not take feeling. Between them there is not much room to negotiate, and the tradition suggests not trying.
