Eight of Wands and Eight of Cups

Everything arriving at once, and somebody walking away. The Eight of Wands is eight staves in flight, fast and nearly landed; the Eight of Cups is a figure leaving eight stacked cups behind under a moon. The tradition reads the pair as departure at the busiest possible moment.

Associated with leaving something that is going well by every external measure. The pair is respectful of that and does not treat it as a mistake.

Walking out mid-momentum. Frequently read for people who leave when things are accelerating rather than when they are failing.

The Eight of Cups is the deck at its clearest that a thing can be fine and still not be yours. The speed in the Eight of Wands is not an argument against going.
