Judgement and Death

The deck's two cards of irreversible change, and they are not duplicates. Death is the close: a chapter genuinely over. Judgement is the call: something buried coming back up to be reckoned with. Together the tradition reads them as a past thing returning at the exact point you had finished with it.

Contact from someone a chapter had closed on. The pair does not read as reconciliation; it reads as an accounting.

A former role, colleague or decision resurfacing. Associated with consequences arriving after the situation that produced them had ended.

Judgement asks you to answer, not to go back. The pairing is specific that reckoning with something is a different act from resuming it.
