What does Ace of Cups mean as someone's feelings?

The strongest opening in the suit: new love, a proposal, a relationship beginning, feeling arriving before there is anything to call it.

In an existing bond it reads as renewal rather than novelty, and specifically as the return of something that had gone quiet. Long relationships have periods where the feeling is inferred rather than felt, and this card describes it coming back into the room.

What it does not describe is a person, a timeline or an outcome. An Ace is a beginning, and beginnings can be declined by either party, which is worth saying to anybody reading it as a promise.

As somebody's feelings, it is one of the warmest answers available: something real is opening up, unguarded and early. Early is the operative word, and the card is honest that nothing has been decided yet.

A card drawn to represent another person's feelings does not read their mind. What it can do is describe the dynamic as it reaches you: what is being expressed, what the shape of the connection is from where you sit.

That is a real answer and a smaller one than the question usually wants. Readers who promise more than that are not being straight with you.

The instruction is to receive rather than pursue. This card is about being given something, not about winning it, and effort applied here tends to close the thing it is aimed at.

In an advice position it favours saying the true thing, letting somebody in, or beginning something you have wanted to begin and have been keeping at arm's length. It has no interest in whether you are ready.

The heart closed. Emotion blocked, repressed, or spilled uselessly.

The three are worth separating. Blocked is temporary and usually protective; repressed has been going on long enough that the person cannot locate the feeling at all; spilled is emotion arriving everywhere at once and landing on nobody, which exhausts the person having it as much as anybody near them.

Also read for love offered and refused, or offered somewhere it cannot be received. The card reversed is often not describing a fault in anybody. Some cups are held out to people who are not in a position to take them.
