She is warm about spending on comfort and unusually unembarrassed about it. Good food, a decent bed and a warm house are, in her reading, infrastructure rather than luxury, and the tradition treats scrimping on them as a false economy.

Reversed, that inverts, and the caution is generosity you cannot actually afford, which she is far more prone to than overspending on herself. Money given to people whose situations are not improving is the specific pattern.

Fertility in the broadest sense: a project, a home, a body, a bond, all thickening into something real. Receive rather than push. Comfort, sensuality and nourishment are not indulgences here, they are the method.

Her particular counsel is that the conditions matter more than the effort. Growth is what happens when something is fed, watered and left alone long enough, and the work available is preparing the ground rather than pulling at the shoots.
