The Tower and The Star

The most quoted pairing in the deck, and the order is the whole point: something comes down, and afterwards there is water and open sky. The Star does not undo The Tower. It is what the ground looks like once the building has stopped falling, and the tradition is emphatic that the recovery is slow, unglamorous and real.

Usually read as a relationship that has already had its honest argument. The pretence is gone and what is left is quieter and more truthful. Read together they suggest repair is possible; they do not suggest it is quick, and they say nothing about whether the same two people are involved.

A role, company or plan that ended abruptly, followed by work that suits you better. The tradition associates the pair with people who did not choose the ending and later stopped wanting it back.

Do not rush to rebuild the same structure. The Star arrives while the rubble is still there, which is the point: hope here is something you sit in, not something you act on immediately.
