The Sun and The World

The deck's two unambiguous arrivals. The Sun is clarity and warmth, the thing seen plainly at last; The World is completion, the circuit closed. Together the tradition reads the end of something that ended well, which the deck does not offer often and should be taken when it does.

Associated with a relationship that has become itself: settled, public and not in question. Also read for the good ending, the one both people can describe the same way afterwards.

Finishing, and being visibly finished. Read for the completed piece of work, the qualification, the last day of something long.

The pair is about closure rather than about what comes next, and the tradition suggests letting it be about that for a while. The Fool is the card that follows The World, and it is in no hurry.
