Two cards of will and they do not agree on what will is. The Magician directs by understanding; The Chariot directs by holding on. The tradition reads the pair as a question of whether this situation yields to cleverness or to sheer persistence.

Associated with somebody talking their way through a difficulty beside somebody enduring it, and with each finding the other exhausting.

Read for a problem that is either a puzzle or a grind. Applying the wrong approach is the failure the pair points at.

Decide whether this needs to be outthought or outlasted. Most people default to whichever they are better at.
