The Hierophant and The Tower

One of the oldest readings in the deck, and it is right there in the imagery: a tower with a crown coming off it, struck. The tradition reads this pair as the institution itself failing, and it is emphatic that what falls is the structure rather than the belief.

Associated with an inherited framework for relationships collapsing, through a family, a faith or a community. The pair separates the framework from what it held.

Read for an institution failing around the people in it. The pair is clear that the failure is structural and not personal.
