The Fool and The Chariot

Two departures with nothing else in common. The Chariot leaves with a direction, a vehicle and a grip on both reins; The Fool leaves with a bag. The tradition reads the pair as a question of whether the journey has an object, and it is unusually direct about it.

Associated with one person pursuing something definite and the other simply going along, and with the moment that difference becomes visible.

Read for setting out with and without a plan in the same situation. The pair favours whichever of the two the actual terrain rewards, and says the terrain decides.

Name the destination or admit there is not one. Both are workable and pretending the second is the first is not.
