The Moon and The Devil

Two cards about not seeing clearly, working differently. The Moon distorts: things are not what they appear and the path is only half lit. The Devil binds, and its particular trick is that the chains are loose. Together the tradition reads a situation somebody is inside and cannot describe accurately, which is precisely what makes it hard to leave.

Associated with attachments that are difficult to see from within. The pair is read as confusion rather than as villainy, and it does not nominate anybody as the villain.

Work with an unclear picture and a strong hold: opaque decisions above you, a situation you keep explaining to yourself.

The tradition points to the same first step in both cards, which is describing the thing out loud to somebody outside it. Neither card survives an accurate description.
