Ten of Wands and Ten of Swords

Carrying too much, and the end of carrying it. The Ten of Swords is the most theatrical card in the deck, a figure face down with ten blades in the back, and the tradition reads it as absolute finality with the sun already rising behind it. Together with the Ten of Wands it reads as a burden that ended by collapse rather than by choice.

Associated with a relationship that was being held up by one person until it was not. Read as an ending, and read as a release.

Burnout arriving at its conclusion. Frequently read after the point where somebody stopped, rather than before it.

The Ten of Swords is the deck at its most over-read. Ten blades is excessive to the point of being theatre, and the traditional reading includes the dawn: this is the bottom, and the bottom is a place things stop getting worse.
