Six of Swords and Six of Pentacles

A crossing and the help that makes it possible. The Six of Swords has a ferryman; somebody is doing the poling. The Six of Pentacles is assistance given and measured. The tradition reads the pair as a transition somebody else is partly funding.

Associated with leaving a situation with practical support from somebody. Read as dependence that is temporary and acknowledged.

A move made possible by a backer, a settlement or a benefactor. Frequently read for changes that were not self-financed.

Both cards involve accepting help and neither treats that as a failure. The thing worth being clear about is what the ferryman is owed.
