King of Wands and King of Swords

Two commanders, and the tradition reads them as most likely of any pairing to be a rivalry. The King of Swords rules by judgement, precedent and argument; the King of Wands by conviction and momentum. Both are used to being the one who decides.

Associated with a contest of wills. Read as two people who respect each other and neither of whom concedes easily.

The visionary against the lawyer, in whatever form that takes locally. Frequently read for boardroom disagreements that are about authority rather than facts.

The tradition does not pick a winner here. It suggests establishing which decisions belong to which of them before the situation does it for you.
