Leaving, and being glad. The Nine is a man seated in front of nine cups with his arms folded, satisfied. The tradition reads this run as one of the most encouraging in the deck: the departure in the Eight was right, and what followed it was contentment rather than regret.

Associated with having left something and being better for it. Read as vindication that arrived quietly.

The Nine of Cups is traditionally the wish card, with the traditional caution attached: he is sitting alone. The pair is content and it is not yet the Ten.
